Heating Up the Stage in Hotlanta!

I'm currently flying home to Las Vegas from the Fit Science Championships competition that just took place in Atlanta, GA. Once again, babies are crying and people are loudly chattering amongst those trying to sleep, yet I'm happy to be headed home.

It's a HUGE must that I thank my friend, Desiree, and her boyfriend for their generous hospitality by lending their home to me during the weekend while I competed! You two are the best and I appreciate you so much! Cathy Savage ended up being at the competition and that was definitely a surprise to say the least! I had to laugh a little considering her and the rest of my Savage sisters had no idea that I was competing until I walked through the door for registration! Lol But the best part was seeing the smiles on their faces once they realized the Brewster Booty was live and in person! Ha! I conversed with Cathy a bit about the direction I wanted to go within the fitness industry and we spoke about agencies and continuing my education with health, fitness, and nutrition and I now have a more clear understanding of how to progress towards those goals. Thank you to Kendall Wood for having me at the show. It was without a doubt a competition that I will never forget!
So, you must be wondering the outcome of the competition, hmmm?! Well, even if you're not wondering, I'm going to tell you anyways! :) I competed in the Fitness Model category which consisted of a bikini round and a sports wear themed round and I was scored on how defined my abs were, the roundness in my shoulders, my quads, hamstrings...basically the overall definition of muscle on my body. I think the Brewster Booty got me a couple extra points (same as in any other competition :D)! I ended up tied for third in my division behind two girls that were tied for second and the first place winner...don't ask me, I just come to compete and that's about it! Lol It is what it is my friends! I met many new friends and got to hang with many old friends so I'm a happy camper! The highlight of the trip would have to be dressing up in my 80's attire to assist my girl, Desiree, during her Desir80's class on Thursday and dinner with Desiree and her boyfriend at the Roxx in Atlanta after the show had ended on Friday! Fun times, good rewards, good friends, good to go! I came, I saw, I conquered (in my opinion), and now I'm off to Miami in two weeks for the Fitness Universe!
You think I can prance around on a stage without actually performing with a routine and be completely satisfied??? You are sadly mistaken! That "T-walk" is gonna come with a little Country this time 'round and I'm Hell on heels ladies and gents so get ready to cowboy and cowgirl up!!! Can I get a Yee-haw?! YEE-HAWWWWWW!!! Happy training and see you in Miami! XOOX

3 days/18 Days & Counting!!!

18 days until we all hit the spot lights on the Fitness Universe stage in Miami, FL! Time has been ticking at a rapid pace and I can hardly wait to board the plane leaving the bright lights of Las Vegas. I will be competing in the Fitness Model category for the Fit Science Championships prior to FUP which I have actually never done before. I normally prepare for FUP and FUP alone during the Spring/Summer season. Guess I got the bug and just wanted to get my feet a little wet, plus Kendall Wood was very convincing!

June 1st (Atlanta, GA) - Fit Science Championships

June 15th & 16th (Miami, FL) - Fitness Universe Championships (FUP)
www.fitnessuniverse.com

Do you have your check list in hand and ready? If not, I would suggest that you start now before June 15th sneaks up on you! Just a few things to get packed now while they are fresh on my mind (with no carbs or fruits in my diet...I tend to forget things during this time period):
- tanner
- show outfits
- show shoes
- makeup
- manicure/pedicure repair
- Bikini Bite
- show jewelry
- CD of routine music
- party clothes
- phone charger
- competition props
- camera
- rice cakes/peanut butter/candy for pre-stage appearance
- plenty of loose black clothing for wearing while tanned
- oh yeah...AND FOOD!!!

Ok...my brain is fried! Time for bed my fit friends! Make sure you're resting, getting all your meals and water in, and most of all make sure that this is a FUN process! If it's too stressful, this may not be the hobby for you. This is all in fun and no matter the results, you should be more in love with yourself than you ever were to begin with! Happy training!

Be Inspired - Be Accountable

Is anyone as excited for bikini season as I am?! I'm super stoked!!! I've been in the gym more lately after seeing all the pools open and everyone partying during the day rather than the night time. It's that extra push that I needed for the upcoming Spring shows!

Now, being that I live in Las Vegas, that's what always does it for me: being surrounded by all the half-naked people at the pools and working with girls that are fit year-round...I LOVE IT! Something to keep me accountable! Good thing my shows are coming up soon because this is the perfect time to have "the bug." My suggestion to everyone who has hit a plateau or can't find their mojo, take the things that you're constantly surrounded by and use them as a reason to make your situation better whether they are good or unfortunate things. Use it all as inspiration, don't stand still while everyone else is out there making it happen. BE ACCOUNTABLE and get it done! Happy Training! xoox

"PIECES: You have all the right pieces in place, but you're not in place. In order to move forward, you must first be in place to utilize the pieces set before you. The trainer is set, meals are prepared, and the gym is paid for. But you still have yet to make the time to actually do your part to get the best result. You can't do one without the other and expect to get an awesome figure and build better health. Take the time to restructure some things in your life. MAKE TIME for what's good for you." - Speak Life: Book of Quotes by John R. Jefferson

I'm BACK!

After months of playing football for the Lingerie Football League and working extra shifts to make up for my new adventure, I am back to my fitness life! I've missed the stage, the prep, the excitement of revealing my hard work, and most of all I've missed my fitness people! Don't be shocked to see me on the stage sometime in June!

Happy Training! xoox

FAP 2011 and Some More

Fitness America 2011 has come to an end and I must say it has been an experience to remember and a much needed event in my life. Things have been crazy for me here in Las Vegas with football, work, training, teaching posing and classes, school, and trying to keep a personal life on top of all of these things...Fitness America seemed to be a bad idea to add on my list of things to do, but ended up being the best choice I had made all year.

Disappearing acts have been a trend of mine because I just can't seem to sit still! I've been playing corner and wide receiver for the Las Vegas Sin the entire year of 2011 which has kept me from the competition floor, but I decided 4 weeks before FAP that I would give it a go. November 4th was Las Vegas Sin vs Seattle Mist, November 11th was Los Angeles Temptation vs Las Vegas Sin, followed by FAP on November 18th and 19th!!! What where you thinking is a question many have asked me, but I just zoned in and got it done. 3-0 in football for the Sin and top 10 in Fitness at FAP after all was said and done and I couldn't be happier at this moment. All that hard work paid off to say the least.

There was something different about FAP this year. Maybe it's because I've been out of the loop for such a long period of time, but things have definitely changed. So many new faces, new walk, new guidelines, demerits, etc. I almost had to make sure I was at the right place. Regardless of all the changes, the best change I was able to witness was the "clean slate" feeling that gave many people the opportunity to stand out. Trina Wiggins won her first FAP title, Leigha Harvey was able to claim her first FAP title as well in her first year of competing in fitness, and many new faces had the chance to mark their territory as well. That was a special thing to see if you asked me. For years, you see the same people placing top 5 and top 10 and it wasn't that way this year. I, of all people, have been climbing the ladder for four years now and was given the opportunity to place top 10 and I was literally in shock when I heard my number being called! Now, don't get me wrong, I believe we all deserve recognition and I personally have a hard time saying whether I'm a top 10 person or not because I feel like a winner regarless, but it was still an unexpected surprise! This year I was given a chance to have a voice and many people, including the judges, may not have known who I was until I was handed a microphone to speak during my interview question. Like I've said before, I can do the tricks and entertain you to tears with dance even though I may not be a fit 36-24-36, but I pride myself in being more than a talent.
I'm an entertainer with and without my voice so I thank you all, FAP, this year for allowing me to have a voice and introduce myself aside from my performance. The icing on the cake was that I was able to share this year with three new-to-fitness stay-at-home moms that I was lucky enough to coach to the stage! I'm sharing this one with you girls: Beth, Jessica, and Leisa! You inspire me in more ways than you could imagine and I hope the world is ready to see you take top 10 in the next year because I know you have it in you!

Happy holidays to everyone and make sure to share it with those you charish most! xoox

Vegas Sin Win and Ribbons for Mike!!!

WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN? you ask!!! I know, I know!!! I've been keeping busy with work and of course Las Vegas Sin practice for the start of the 2011 LFL season. I'm back with news...some great and some bad.

With all that has been keeping me occupied in my day to day, like many I get caught up and forget to take it all in and embrace the people that have entered my life in such a positive way. Unfortunately, a co-worker of mine at Coyote Ugly, Michael Bianchi, passed away on August 30, 2011, from a fatal accident he had on his motorcycle with an SUV. He was not at fault in the collision and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. 21 years old, newly married, and left this world much too soon if you asked me. I remember always asking him when I was just a little down to do "the dance" for me. Obviously, no one but my co-workers and I know what that is, but he could turn my frown upside-down within two shakes of his little jig!!! OMG...I will NEVER forget how he could make me smile!

In light of this unfortunate news, the Las Vegas Sin of the LFL (freshly off a win against the Chicago Bliss 32-20 on 9-2-11) will be at Coyote Ugly Las Vegas on Sunday, September 4th, and Tuesday, September 6th, to help the Las Vegas Coyotes raise money for funeral costs. Just to fill you in on the inside story, I received a notification on Facebook from my GM of Coyote with a picture of red and gold ribbons at 3pm the day of our first LFL game with the title "Ribbons for Mike."
How ironic is it that the Las Vegas Sin colors are red and gold? My heart was warm at the run down of the clock during the game with a feeling that the colors of the ribbons were chosen by Mike in some way...call me crazy! Things just seem to happen in these sort of ways sometimes.

Please join my co-workers and I along with my fellow Las Vegas Sin teammates on 9-4-11 and/or 9-6-11 between 8:30p and 11p while we sell home game tickets, sign autographs, and pose for pictures, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY in helping us sell ribbons for $1 in honor of Mike!!! Anything you can give will be much appreciated!

R.I.P.
